WANDEN — Built on Strength and Innovation
WANDEN comes from the Dutch word for “walls,” symbolizing strength, protection, and reliability. It also resonates with the “shield” embedded in the founder’s name, reinforcing the brand’s core belief: building trust through solid engineering. Like a wall or a shield, WANDEN represents security and stability for every rider.
The founder of WANDEN began crafting bicycle hubs in 1983, bringing more than four decades of hands-on experience in precision manufacturing and mechanical design. Rather than chasing trends, WANDEN focuses on durability, responsiveness, and long-term performance. Each hub is designed to withstand demanding riding conditions while delivering consistent and dependable results.
At the heart of WANDEN hubs is a planar helical ratchet system with 72 points of engagement, ensuring immediate power transfer and responsive acceleration. This quick engagement allows riders to feel connected to the bike the moment they apply force to the pedals. The bearing system consists of two standard bearings combined with a single ACB (Angular Contact Bearing), offering enhanced load distribution, improved durability, and a smooth, controlled ride feel.

In terms of durability and quality assurance, WANDEN hubs have successfully passed SGS fatigue testing with 100,000 load cycles, validating their structural integrity under prolonged use, high torque input, and demanding riding conditions. This certification reflects WANDEN’s commitment to reliability, safety, and long-term performance.
To meet different riding disciplines, WANDEN offers both J-bend and straight-pull spoke designs. These configurations are carefully developed for ROAD and GRAVEL bikes, balancing stiffness, strength, and adaptability. Whether riding at high speed on paved roads or tackling unpredictable gravel terrain, WANDEN hubs provide stability and confidence in every situation.
More than just a component, WANDEN is a symbol of resilience and reliability—engineered to support riders, mile after mile.
